Our Contest Cycle

Writing Contest 100 Cycle

Our major contests run until they are filled
(100 entries).

At that time, the active contest closes for judging and a new contest opens.

There is always an open contest in which to participate.

How it Works

Entering

  1. Pay the entry fee **here**
  2. Once payment is confirmed, you will receive an email notifying you that you have been given permission to post to the Contest Blog
  3. Post your entry on this Contest blog

Duration of Contest

  1. The contest will remain open until 100 entries are received. It will then close for voting and a new one will open.
  2. Entrants in the now closed contest will be emailed a voting URL
  3. Polling will open on the blog for non-entrant voting
  4. WC100 judges will be notified to read and vote

Commenting

  1. Entrants and non-entrant readers are encouraged to comment on entries.
  2. Comments should be constructive and delivered in a positive and supportive manner.
  3. WC100 Administration reserves the right to delete inflammatory comments.

Voting

  1. Entrants vote on the Contest Voting URL
  2. Each entrant gets one (1) vote and may NOT vote for their own entry
  3. Non-entrants vote through polling on the Contest Blog
    • The entry with the majority of votes gets an additional 3 votes
    • The runner up entry gets 2 additional votes.
  4. WC100 judges (1 - 4 depending on the contest) get 1 vote each

The entry with the most votes wins the prize. The maximum number of votes a winning entry can receive is (99 +3 +4) 106.
