File Format
Since you will be posting your entry directly into a blog, there is no format requirement. However, be sure once you post your entry, that it looks like you want it to. Blog software often ignores formatting from a paste operation, so you may need to "fix" formatting in your entry after you post it. There is a simple editor that will allow you to do this on the blog.
Length
Entries should be from 500 to 5000 words. Titles are not counted in word count. Entries that exceed the word count will be truncated and re-posted. Excerpts from longer works are acceptable.
Content
We do not monitor content in College and Open contests in any way. We trust our contestants to restrict content with their votes.
However, we will randomly monitor content in our Youth and High School contests. If we find content that we feel is objectionable or inappropriate for the age group, we will move the content into the current Open contest. We will also provide a link on contest pages in both the Youth and High School groups from which readers may request a "Content Review" if they find content they feel should be moved.
The concept of "objectional content" is a "slippery slope" at best. We will do our best to remain unbiased, while still making our best attempt to keep the contest pages for our younger writers a safe place to be. Decisions of our editors will be final and unappealable.
Numbers of Submissions Per Contest
WC100 does not enforce a limit on numbers of submissions. However, since 1) you must pay a separate submission fee for each entry, and 2) readers who like your work may vote for only one of your entries at a time, you may want to spread your entries out among several contests.
